Ideas to replace the flap on a patio dog door?

The flap to our sliding patio doggy door somehow came off and the dogs then chewed it up. It’s irreplacable. Any ideas to cover the dog door flap to keep bugs and the elements out but allow her to come and go as she pleases? The frame is metal, can’t really nail it, staple it, glue may not stick… any ideas?

I was going to say attach a strip of fly wire but it would be hard to put anything onto metal really that’s going to stay stuck for any length of time.
I think you may need to bite the bullet and get a new dog door.
